THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI will hold examination for direct recruitment against 14 vacancies to Delhi Higher Judicial Service on Sunday, the 06th April,2014-Last Date 06.02.2014 13/11/2013: While renewing the term of the appointment of the existing incumbents the State Government is required to consider their past performance and conduct in the light of the recommendations made by the District Judges and the District Magistrates. Therefore, the High Court could not have issued a Mandamus for renewal of the term of respondent Nos. 1 and 2 and other similarly situated persons and thereby frustrated the provisions of LR Manual and Section 24 Cr.P.C .- SUPREME COURT. 12 Nov. 2013- Registration of FIR by police in cognizable offence is must and action must be taken against officials for not lodging a case on the complaint filed in such offences.- Supreme Court.(PTI) 09/11/2013: Supreme Court stayed Gauhati High Court order that declared CBI as unconstitutional. 06-11-2013 -"while we decline to hold and declare that the DSPE Act, 1946, is not a valid piece of legislation, we do hold that the CBI is neither an organ nor a part of the DSPE and the CBI cannot be treated as a ‘police force’ constituted under the DSPE Act, 1946"-GUWAHATI HIGH COURT

Delhi Judicial Services -Preliminary Examination -Law & General Knowledge
The Preliminary Examination will be screening test and will consists of One Paper of multiple objective type questions carrying maximum of 200 marks.In Preliminary examination the questions will be asked on General Knowledge ,aptitude of the candidate, candidate power of expression, flair in english language, knowledge of objective type legal problems and thier solutions covering Constitution of India,Code of Civil Law, Code of Criminal Procedure,Indian Penal Code, Contract Act,Partnership Act, principles governing arbitration Law,evidence act, specific relief act and limitation act etc. Minimum qualifying marks in the Pre-Examination shall be 60% and 55% for reserved categories i.e scheduled caste and scheduled tribes and phycically handicapped(Blind/Low Vision)(mobilility not to be restricted) orthopedically.However the number of candidates to be admitted to the main examination will not be more than ten times the total number of vacancies of each category advertised.The marks obtained in the preliminary examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the main examination(written) will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

This contains two sections: Section 1--(General Knowledge-100 marks) & Section 2--(Language-Essay,Translation and Precise writing -150 marks)
Delhi Judicial Services - Mains Examination -Civil Laws- I --200 marks
This paper shall contain a questions from Indian Contract Act, Indian Sales of Goods Act, Indian Partnership Act, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Laws,Mohammadan Laws, Delhi Rent Control Act and law of tort.
Delhi Judicial Services - Mains Examination -Civil Laws- II --200 marks
This paper shall contain a questions Civil Procedure Code,Law of Evidence ,Law of limitation and Law of Registration
Delhi Judicial Services - Mains Examination -Criminal Laws --200 marks
This paper shall contain a questions Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code and Indian Evidence Act
Delhi Judicial Services - Mains Examination -Viva Voce -150 Marks
1. Viva Voce will be of 150 marks. Only those candidates will be called for viva voce who have obtained 40% marks in each written papaer and 50% in the aggregate except in the case of candidates belonging to reserved categories in whose case the qualifying marks will be 35% in each written paper and 45% in aggregate .The marks obtained in the viva voce will be added to the marks obtained in the main written examination.and candidate postion will depend upon the total of viva voce and written main exmination.
